Fun and Fashion on a Sunday

This past weekend was much needed. After a long work week, I needed some fun in the sun! While the weather didn’t corporate on Saturday, Sunday was amazing. My mom came into San Antonio for a visit, and we spent the time out and about!

We started our Sunday with brunch at a place, I’d been to for lunch, but had never tried for brunch. The place is Candlelight Coffeehouse. The San Antonio staple did not disappoint for brunch. I got their Candlelight breakfast with a mimosa. Everything on my plate was cooked perfectly, and their prices for brunch were so reasonable. I really recommend it, if you haven’t tried it.

After a fantastic brunch, I had to make my way to Bird Bakery. Owned by Tv Personality and Entrepreneur Elizabeth Chambers, Bird Bakery is amazing and what made it a priority on Sunday was my last chance to get their Call Me By Your Name sugar cookies. The cookies were created specifically for the movie that stars Armie Hammer, husband of Elizabeth. I bought three cookies, which were delicious and so Instagram worthy!

Later that day, I took my mom for a stroll at Japanese Tea Garden. It was pretty packed, but I couldn’t really blame people. It was the first semi sunny day in over a week. The warmer weather finally allowed me to the opportunity to dress casual without a jacket.

My streetwear outfit for Sunday consisted of my staple tee and torn jeans.

I wore a black and white striped tee I purchased at Forever 21. While I’m not a fan of horizontal stripes, the shirt’s cute rose logo on the left of the chest really got me!

I paired my new shirt with some dark blue Zara torn jeans and Vans. I topped off the look with my usual suede snapback.

It was great ending to my weekend. I got spend time with my mom and enjoyed exploring my city in great weather. Also, I think my streetwear look was pretty good, simple but good!

A Weekend in Austin

I’ve been dying for a weekend away from San Antonio and this past weekend I finally did. My boyfriend and I headed to Austin for a one day vacay that consisted of food, drinks, dancing and enjoying everything else Austin has to offer. That included a trip to Hope Outdoor Gallery also known as Graffiti Park, which I was happy about being that they will be demolishing it soon.

We went just a little overboard with the food that weekend. We stopped at our favorite wing spot, Pluckers on Saturday. Boneless wings and fried pickles were on the table for dinner. It was much needed after a week of watching calories and stressing from work. Later that night we enjoyed a night of dancing and drinks at Barbarella.

The following we woke up for breakfast at Austin Diner and ended our Sunday walking down South Congress, which also involved a stop at El Tacorrido for El Equinox, an horchata with a shot of espresso.

Even though it was an overnight trip. It was much needed, and I had a great time!

Streetwear Sunday

It’s been gloomy weather for the past week, but the sun came out on a Sunday and of course, I had to enjoy it with an awesome streetwear inspired outfit and a sometime at the farmer’s market.

While I’ve been stuck wearing mostly sweaters and wool jackets, I decided the sunny day called for a denim jacket. I sported my American Eagle Outfitters denim jacket over my olive long sleeve shirt from Forever 21.

I decided to go with a denim on denim look, but went with a pair of distressed gray jeans from H&M instead of blue jeans. The gray complimented the color of my olive tee, and didn’t clash or compete with my jean jacket. And for walking with comfort I went with my Black and white Old Skool Vans.

My outfit was perfect for a stroll on a sunny day at the Pearl Brewery, which was amazing. While living in San Antonio, I haven’t spent much time at this awesome hub for family, food and fun, so it was a nice change from the usual.

We even grabbed some ramen for lunch. The spicy miso tantan-man ramen from Tenko Ramen didn’t disappoint! I’m definitely getting it again on my next trip to the Pearl.

It was a great way to end the week. I finally got to wear an outfit that didn’t have to consist of a sweater or a wool jacket, and I got to enjoy the sunny day surrounded by nice people enjoying the day too.

Missing that Summer Fashion

This winter has seen colder days compared to last year. While it’s sort of welcomed. I’m missing the days when a t-shirt was all you needed. Here’s to hoping some sunnier days are ahead of us in south Texas.

In the meantime, here’s a throwback look to last August. Looks like I spent my day in a linen tee from H&M, some torn jeans from Zara, my go-to summer cap from Armani Exchange, my converse and a plaid shirt wrapped around my waist.

Come on, spring!

A pop of color to your wardrobe

It’s been a pretty gloomy week in south Texas. While, I’m been enjoying the cooler weather, a part of me is missing sunnier days.

An opportunity to help brighten up my day is with my wardrobe. I tend to stick to darker tone during winter, but sometimes you’ve got to add a pop of color.

Now when trying to add a pop of color to your outfit, try not to over do it. One colorful item will make you stand out! For my pop of color look, I added a blue DKNY bomber jacket over a white t-shirt, white leather converse and light washed torn jeans. The white tones of my outfit help my bomber jacket make the statement.

Make your colorful statement in winter with a bright jacket, pair of shoes or a bag!

Bomb Fashion for the Weekend

When you work a 40 hour work week Monday through Friday, you live for the weekends! Sure, I live for the fun, food and relaxing that comes with the weekend, but I also enjoy getting to dress exactly the way I want: fashionably. Not to say that my work attire is for the birds, but the handbook doesn’t let me wear torn jeans or converse.

With the weather somewhere between cold and warm this past weekend, I layered up my looks without long sleeves. My Saturday attire consisted of a new green pinstripe-stitched t-shirt from Forever 21, with a Zara bomber jacket. For jeans, I kept it light blue with some moto jeans from and finished off my look with my white leather converse and black snapback from H&M.

My bomb fashion was perfect for the shopping, lunching and partying that awaited me on Saturday. What’s does your weekend attire consist of?

Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018!

Well here we are again, it’s the start of another year! The beginning of the new year can mean a lot of things to different people, for me, 2018 is the start of bettering my body and mind. When I look back on 2017, I can’t complain. It was the year I completed my one year at my first post-grad job, the year I advanced my career with my second post-grad job, the year of fun concerts and the year I rediscovered my passion for blogging.

My 2018 resolutions are to get into better shape, to not take myself too seriously and to continue sharing my passion for fashion with you all! I hope not to slack off, but if I do, I will look back at this post and remind myself to not give up.

For my New Year’s weekend, my boyfriend and I decided to spend it in San Antonio. We already spent time with our families during Christmas break, so New Year’s was for us.

On the last Saturday before the break, we spent some time Brackenridge Park, one of our favorite parks. If it hasn’t already become apparent, I love spending time at my local parks. While, I’m not the biggest outdoor person, I love taking time to visit a park and enjoy nature. Plus, it’s a great place to clear one’s mind and take some photos!

My last outfit of 2017, consisted of new buys that I don’t regret! I was able to cop some grey torn skinny jeans from Zara year-end sale. If you haven’t visited Zara recently, make a trip. They always have great deals at the beginning of the new year. I paired my new jeans with an old distressed blue jean button up from Forever 21, that I layered on top of my black tee from PacSun.

I completed my look with my dark green cap from Aldo and my new hi-top Vans. Ever since I purchased the low-top version of the shoes I’m sporting, I’ve become obsessed with Vans. I mean, I’m obsessed with shoes overall!

As I think back to 2017, I realize how blessed I was. The good and the bad has led to where I’m at this very moment typing this. Here’s to more accomplishments in 2018 and not letting the bad moments get me down!
