In 2011, I discovered the short sleeve button up. When I first bought my own at my local Cotton On store, I immediately fell in love with it. I remember seeing short sleeve button ups at department stores and not liking the way they looked. The shirts either had an ugly plaid look or the fit didn’t look right. Today, some brands have really stepped up and changed the way you look at the short sleeve.

The reason I have grown to like the short sleeve is because brands like Cotton On, Topman, and Forever 21 provide a more fitted look. The one I’m wearing in the picture is fitted to the body and the arms. I like the cut of the sleeve because it allows you to roll up them up and it stays. It is a versatile shirt, I have worn this look during day time and a night out on the town. You can wear it with the top unbuttoned and untucked like me, or you can add a tie and tuck it in. If you pair it up with rolled up pair of chinos and derby shoes like me, you give it what I call a “Summer dressed up” look.
I recommend popping into one of the stores I listed or looking them up online. These short sleeve button ups come in different patterns and colors, I’m sure you will find one that you like.
