After a hectic time last week, I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Of course, relaxing to me involves being out and about in San Antonio. With my promise to become a penny pincher, my boyfriend and I settled on a date at the movies to watch Spider-Man Homecoming. If you haven’t watched it, I suggest you put it on your watch list for the weekend. The story and cast were perfect. As a fan of Andrew Garfield, I must admit this version was superior to the two previous incarnations (my opinion. Lol).
Along with finding penny pinching things to do, like going to the park. I am also trying to be smarter with my clothing purchases. I’ve recently started enjoying the wonders of thrifting. Yes, I’ve made thrift purchases, but majority of the times I’d find myself going to a thrift store and always feeling like I could never find anything.
Now, I’ve been heading to thrift stores with an open mind, and have found some great items similar to what I would find at the mall. The money saving part makes me so happy! I find myself liking three or four items and my purchase coming out to less than $20.
One of my recent purchases from Buffalo Exchange was a camel colored long sleeve suede shirt. The awesome thing about this purchase was that I’ve been looking for the exact kind of shirt from retailers online. However, they would always end up being $55 to $150, which was crazy to me. I ended up buying it for only $4.50.
I had seen several look books with suede shirts and thought it was perfect for putting over tees or tying around my waist (like in the photo). It’s great piece for my streetwear looks, like the outfit I wore this past Saturday. I paired my suede shirt with an all black look with jeans from Zara, a PacSun tee, my black and white Converse and DKNY cap.
This shirt was definitely a thrift store treasure, and I will continue to look at thrift stores for items I want before heading to a mall.
