Bold Solid Tees

The first official day of Spring is over a month away, but my wardrobe is starting to show hints of spring already. It’s partially due to the Texas weather, but I figured I’d take this time to talk about one of the big trends I’ll be rocking for Spring 2020: Bold solid colored T-shirt.

In the past, I strayed away from solid tees that weren’t black, navy blue, dark green or grey. I always felt self-conscious with how fitted pastel or light colored solid tees looked on me. But now, I’m in a place where I’m comfortable with how fitted tees fit my body.

In this featured look, I’m wearing a fitted yellow ringer crew neck T-shirt from Forever 21. I had actually purchased this tee awhile back, but I didn’t love how it previously fit my body. Now, I’m loving it. I tucked the tee into my lake wash dad jeans from Urban Outfitters and finished off the look with some white leather hi-top Converse.

My look had me ready for the fun weekend ahead! I can definitely see myself rocking the solid tees and dad jeans with a variety of Spring worthy colors. With the bloomy season coming in a few weeks, will you be rocking bold colors?

The Dad Effect

For the last few years, the dad effect has taken over men’s streetwear and has found its way into my wardrobe. From the look of my photos, I obviously don’t know how to act! I love the dad fit, especially dad jeans! In my featured weekend look, I wore some BDG light wash torn dad jeans from Urban Outfitters, which I totally recommend. The relaxed cut with a tapered leg is a perfect medium between skinny and straight.

I was wanting a basic look with a pop of color, so I paired my dad jeans with an orange long sleeve T-shirt from PacSun. The orange color was perfect for a sunny Saturday!

The sunny day called for a cap, so I went with my boyfriend’s Kim Petras pink dad hat, which added another pop of color!

Finishing off my look, I went with a pair of white hi-top Converse, because they are iconic and timeless and definitely complimented my cool dad aesthetic. Once I laced up my shoes, I was ready for a fantastic day out and about with my boyfriend.

With the dad style here and showing no signs of going anywhere, are you embracing it?

Cute Concert Merch from Kim Petras

A month ago, I got to see my lord and savior Kim Petras for the second time in my life! The queen was on her Clarity Tour and she just knocked it out of the park with her performance. Mama know how to put on a show and she also knows how to come up with some cute merch!

I literally went crazy at the merch table and spent about $90, but I had to have her merch! One T-shirt in particular caught my eye when I looking up her merch on Twitter: The Kim Petras holding a koala T-shirt. The meme-worthy T-shirt needed to be copped and copped I did.

I usually refrain from wearing white, because I don’t find it flattering on me. But the moment I put on the tee, I loved it! The fabric is soft and the fit wasn’t tight, which I like. I’ve been tucking in my tees lately and this one looks good tucked in. In this look, I paired the tee with some dad fit jeans from Urban Outfitters and some classic Converse.  The look was perfect for a cool, sunny Saturday.

If you’re looking to cop some merch from Kim Petras. I definitely recommend! The quality and creativity is there! Check out her merch store here, if you aren’t seeing her on tour.

Casual Vibes

If there’s one thing that hasn’t changed in my wardrobe as I get older, it would be torn denim. You really can’t go wrong with torn denim! Dress it up or dress it down, you can add torn denim to almost any outfit.

In my featured look, I went for casual vibes for my Saturday look, so I sort of went crazy with the torn denim. I started off with my Zara skinny jeans I picked up in-store a few years ago. I combined my jeans with a dark short sleeve tee, which is actually my Kacey Musgraves happy & sad smiley concert tee.  I needed layers on this chilly day, so I went with a red and black plaid shirt, which complimented my dark denim.

Now the risky choice was my Zara torn jean denim jacket, because of it’s lighter denim and torn look. However, I think the contrast was needed to balance out my mostly dark tone look. To help the balance, I finished off the look with my Yeezy 700 waverunners. The grey tones were a needed compliment to the look, plus the sneakers gave the look  the casual vibes I was wanting.

What do you think about my causal Saturday look? What are your favorite pieces or looks during the weekend?

Can we say obsessed? I am honestly obsessed with my featured look! The mastermind behind my look is none other than my boyfriend. It was a Saturday afternoon. We had a few looks to shoot and out of nowhere the “Don’t Tell Me” music video by Madonna and the outfit idea came to him. I was pretty much hesitant at first. Mostly because his Madonna obsession has gotten to me, but I digress. I decided to go with it, and I can honestly say that it’s one of my favorite looks ever.

Breaking down the outfit: the light blue denim shirt from DKNY was the first item picked. Next were the blue skinny jeans from H&M. I think at first, we were both hesitant about the fit, but I haven’t really been wearing denim for a hot minute and all I used to wear was skinny jeans. I would die before purchasing a boot or straight cut jean. Anyway, the pants ended up fitting the look perfectly. Next were my Calvin Klein silver boots, which I purchased over a year ago. I’ve haven’t worn them out, but I purchased them after finding out Raf Simons was leaving Calvin Klein. His aesthetic was amazing, and I needed a piece of it! To finish of the look, we went with a leather jacket I picked up from Zara a few years back and a navy hat from Topman.

I love this look, and with fall here, I will definitely rocking this look on a night out! What looks are you curious to try?

Plaid shirts, concert tees for fall

When fall arrives, I bring out the plaid! It’s obviously nothing groundbreaking, but plaid definitely changes up my look. Since the summer months tend to consist of short shorts and tees. A new style choice over the summer was concert tees. I found myself going to many concerts in 2018, and they became a go-to piece to use in the summer. With some styling help from my boyfriend, it looks like concert tees will be part of my fall wardrobe as well!

In this featured look, a J. Crew plaid shirt from the thrift shop meets a Charli XCX tour tee! I wasn’t sure about the combination at first, but they definitely go together in the picture. I went with some distressed skinny jeans from Urban Outfitters to complement my black tee. To help balance, I went with my Yeezy 700 Mauve sneakers, which complemented my plaid shirt. The neon green accents in the sneakers also matched my Charli tee. Finally, to give my outfit that drip (LOL), I added an Adidas belt bag I got at PacSun on clearance for only $8. Definitely a steal! The iridescent of the bag gave my outfit a much needed pop, while also complementing the greens in my outfit.

I can see myself making the plaid/concert tee combination a staple for fall. Has this been a staple in your wardrobe or is this something you might try for fall?
