When you work a 40 hour work week Monday through Friday, you live for the weekends! Sure, I live for the fun, food and relaxing that comes with the weekend, but I also enjoy getting to dress exactly the way I want: fashionably. Not to say that my work attire is for the birds, but the handbook doesn’t let me wear torn jeans or converse.
With the weather somewhere between cold and warm this past weekend, I layered up my looks without long sleeves. My Saturday attire consisted of a new green pinstripe-stitched t-shirt from Forever 21, with a Zara bomber jacket. For jeans, I kept it light blue with some moto jeans from and finished off my look with my white leather converse and black snapback from H&M.
My bomb fashion was perfect for the shopping, lunching and partying that awaited me on Saturday. What’s does your weekend attire consist of?
I get excited every year when the cold weather arrives, because it is hot 364 days of the year in south Texas, and I have to enjoy that one day of cold. Okay, I’m slightly exaggerating, but it’s cold for just a few days. As the cold front comes in, I start wear the hoodies, sweaters and jackets that have been put away. I always say I don’t need anymore cold weather clothes, but I always end up buying something new. This year has been no exception.
A week before the Black Friday rush, I found myself doing some window shopping, and came upon my favorite store, DKNY. It had been awhile since I had stepped into the store, and in that first step I saw something I just had to have: a black velour hoodie.
Now to be totally honest, I have been hating on velour anything, but for some reason I fell in love with this velour hoodie at first sight. When I tried it on, it made me want it even more. I guess when your favorite brand does something you hate, you end up loving it.
I got the chance to wear my new velour hoodie over the weekend, and it was the perfect streetwear piece to add to my closet. I paired it with some light grey torn skinny jeans from H&M and my new pair of black and white Old Skool Vans.
The hoodie is great with or without an undershirt. If you plan on wearing an undershirt, try wearing a white or grey longline tee. The color will allow you to balance out the tones, while the length lets your undershirt be seen.
So the morale of this blog post is to never knock a trend without trying it out first!
It’s the end of another month, and the beginning of another look book. This past month, I only got to feature two looks compared to my usual three to four looks. I would like to blame that on the craziness that was the beginning of the month. Here’s to getting back on track in July.
Both looks for this month are from my trip to Dallas. To survive the summer heat, I dressed for comfort without losing style. Both my pink and black camp shirts are from PacSun and both my jeans are from Zara. For my first look, I decided to go with my OG Converse hi-tops. For my second look, I featured my new pink asos sneakers.
I enjoyed my time in Dallas, and I’m glad I packed my outfits accordingly! Now that June is over; it’s time to start planning my July looks. Stay tuned!
I’ve never been one to wear pink, but as my style has evolved I’ve learned to try new things. This past week, I stopped by my local mall. I was doing the usual window shopping until my eyes came across this pink tropical print bomber at Forever 21. Then I heard it, that little voice say, “treat yo’self!”
I felt a struggle inside myself. I was running low on cash, but it was the only one in the entire men’s section. So I did what any young man would do, I gave myself an IOU. Trust me when I say, I have no regrets!
This bomber jacket is going to be a stable piece in my spring wardrobe. I tried it on with several items and found a few ‘must’ to pair it with.
White to beige will go good with this tropical number. That’s why I choose to pair it with a light beige tee from Pac Sun and my favorite white leather converse. To balance the white, I added some torn skinny jeans.
When it comes to accessories, I recommend sticking to a watch. A tan leather strap would look good, but an Apple Watch doesn’t look bad either.
Once spring is in full swing, you can expect to see me wearing this pink tropical print bomber all the time. Of course, I’ll probably be wearing it with shorts. So if you’re interested in this jacket, I suggest visiting Forever 21 at the mall or online before it’s gone!
These last few months have been pretty busy, and I’m thankful for every minute! I always have to stop and realize that I’m one of lucky ones, because I’m getting the opportunity to work in public relations and social media. Now I’m challenging myself to get back into keeping up with Guy Loves Fashion and my social media channels.
I’ve been so busy that I didn’t realize how fast the seasons were changing. Winter is nearing its end, and spring is just a few weeks away. And I’ve already made a jumpstart with my fashion. A few weeks, I got to wear this spring ready look on a nice day out in the park in San Antonio.
The piece that really made my look was my torned jean jacket from Zara. This jacket is what I like to call an investment piece, meaning that it cost a pretty penny (Aka $90). Investment pieces are items that will make an outfit pop and can be used for several looks. This is true of my jean jacket, I’ve been able to wear it with some many outfits and I’m still in love!
I paired my jacket with my signature skinny jeans from H&M and my Converse. As long as I’m young, you’re gonna see me rocking these items. Another item that has quickly become a fave of mine are caps. They really come in handy when you need an accessory to take your look to next level, or dealing with a bad hair day. You find wide variety of caps at H&M under $6!
If you’re looking for items to wear for the spring time, try investing in a nice jacket or accessories.
I live for the weekends! Even more so for the weekend wear. Having a regular 9 to 6 that requires business attire can do that to you. It can be easy to ditch the workwear for sweats, but when heading out with your friends, try adding a couple of these pieces I can’t live without for your fall weekend wear.
Flannels have been a stable for me since freshman year of high school (10 years ago). You can’t go wrong with a flannel, but instead of buttoning it up, use it as a layer. As temperature slowly drop, layering your clothes can be a better option than going HAM with sweaters in 70 degree weather.
With my recent obsession of longer length tees, I recommend trying them out. Honestly, I’ve never been a big fan of wearing a plain crew neck T-shirt, but longer length tees have changed my mind. They are more fashionable than typical plain shirts, and they look pretty good layered with a flannel. Find 2 for $30 at Pac Sun. They have a variety of colors and patterns that you can mix and match.
Pair your flannel and tee with a good pair of torn jeans. Now I know a good pair of jeans can cost a fortune nowadays, but getting the right pair can be a fashion investment. Zara has a great variety of fashion denim that are similar to what you see on the runway, but don’t have that crazy price tag. Their denim is actually more affordable than brands like True Religion or 7 for all Mankind. Purchase a pair of Zara jeans and take your weekend wear to the next level.
Finish off your weekend look with a good pair of shoes and accessories. For my look I went with some white leather converse, also known as my old faithfuls. Go this route or try a pair of boots. Complete the look with your favorite hat and watch, and your read for the weekend!
It’s been a month into fall and we are barely feeling lower temperatures. I don’t want to be that person, but you best believe I’m going to take out my Chelsea boots and a denim jacket! Living in South Texas, once the temperatures get into the 70s it’s acceptable to start wearing your cooler weather clothes.
With fall weather in session, I normally opt for darker tones like olive green, black, grey and navy blue. For this look, I wore a longer length olive green T-shirt from Forever 21, because I’ve recently became obsessed with longer length tees (thank you, Kanye!). I paired it with my favorite black jeans and my awesome brown suede boots from Hawkings McGill.
My American Eagle denim jacket was the icing on the cake! A denim jacket is perfect, because it’s not over the top for 70 degree weather like a wool topcoat. So if you’re looking to dress up for cooler days with cooler fashion try a look similar to mine! Switch out the boots for converse or wear a sports blazer instead of a denim jacket, it’s your call!
