Streetwear Sunday

Standard

It’s been gloomy weather for the past week, but the sun came out on a Sunday and of course, I had to enjoy it with an awesome streetwear inspired outfit and a sometime at the farmer’s market.

While I’ve been stuck wearing mostly sweaters and wool jackets, I decided the sunny day called for a denim jacket. I sported my American Eagle Outfitters denim jacket over my olive long sleeve shirt from Forever 21.

I decided to go with a denim on denim look, but went with a pair of distressed gray jeans from H&M instead of blue jeans. The gray complimented the color of my olive tee, and didn’t clash or compete with my jean jacket. And for walking with comfort I went with my Black and white Old Skool Vans.

Pearl-brewery

My outfit was perfect for a stroll on a sunny day at the Pearl Brewery, which was amazing. While living in San Antonio, I haven’t spent much time at this awesome hub for family, food and fun, so it was a nice change from the usual.

Tenko-ramen

We even grabbed some ramen for lunch. The spicy miso tantan-man ramen from Tenko Ramen didn’t disappoint! I’m definitely getting it again on my next trip to the Pearl.

It was a great way to end the week. I finally got to wear an outfit that didn’t have to consist of a sweater or a wool jacket, and I got to enjoy the sunny day surrounded by nice people enjoying the day too.

Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018!

Well here we are again, it’s the start of another year! The beginning of the new year can mean a lot of things to different people, for me, 2018 is the start of bettering my body and mind. When I look back on 2017, I can’t complain. It was the year I completed my one year at my first post-grad job, the year I advanced my career with my second post-grad job, the year of fun concerts and the year I rediscovered my passion for blogging.

My 2018 resolutions are to get into better shape, to not take myself too seriously and to continue sharing my passion for fashion with you all! I hope not to slack off, but if I do, I will look back at this post and remind myself to not give up.

For my New Year’s weekend, my boyfriend and I decided to spend it in San Antonio. We already spent time with our families during Christmas break, so New Year’s was for us.

On the last Saturday before the break, we spent some time Brackenridge Park, one of our favorite parks. If it hasn’t already become apparent, I love spending time at my local parks. While, I’m not the biggest outdoor person, I love taking time to visit a park and enjoy nature. Plus, it’s a great place to clear one’s mind and take some photos!

My last outfit of 2017, consisted of new buys that I don’t regret! I was able to cop some grey torn skinny jeans from Zara year-end sale. If you haven’t visited Zara recently, make a trip. They always have great deals at the beginning of the new year. I paired my new jeans with an old distressed blue jean button up from Forever 21, that I layered on top of my black tee from PacSun.

I completed my look with my dark green cap from Aldo and my new hi-top Vans. Ever since I purchased the low-top version of the shoes I’m sporting, I’ve become obsessed with Vans. I mean, I’m obsessed with shoes overall!

As I think back to 2017, I realize how blessed I was. The good and the bad has led to where I’m at this very moment typing this. Here’s to more accomplishments in 2018 and not letting the bad moments get me down!

When it comes to stepping out, I always prefer to wear a button down shirt. The summer days have been scorching hot in San Antonio, so I’ve traded in my long sleeves for short sleeves.

I tend to gravitate towards printed button downs, because they add personality to any outfit. Trust me when I say, you’ll get more compliments when you opt for a shirt that begs to be noticed.

For this look, I paired my Topman cloud printed shirt with my barely worn Topman puritan hat. On a sunny day, a hat will keep the sun out of your face. Plus, it adds even more of a wow factor to your outfit. I mentioned in a previous post that a man offered to buy my hat from me. That didn’t happen to me this time, but remember that hats will attract compliments or money. It’s always a good thing when someone offers to buy an item from your outfit.

I finished off the look with some gray torn jeans from H&M, a necklace from Aldo, and my favorite pair of Converse.

I’ll be rocking big hats and short sleeves for the remainder of the summer. Will you be doing the same?

Stay classy, mi amigos!

The Tie Bar!

Aside from shoes, skinny ties are my other guilty pleasure. Skinny ties have become a staple in men’s fashion for quite some time. A skinny tie will usually range 1-2 1/2 inches in width compared to the 3-3 1/2 inch ties.

I find that the skinny tie is far more versatile than the 3 inch ties. Not only can you wear a skinny tie with a slim fit suit, but with a button up and a pair of jeans.

Now to finish up that casual look for Friday at the workplace add on a funky tie bar.

I snagged this polka dot skinny tie and glasses tie bar from The Tie Bar. This is a great website that delivers quality and has grown in popularity thanks to GQ. I recommend checking their website and looking at their wide variety of ties and tie bars.

Until next time my friends, stay classy!

Rethink Essentials!

Today, I bring you a look from this past Saturday. My weekend consisted of two trips to San Antonio, one to see Bianca Del Rio, Courtney Act, and Michelle Visage in The Rocky Horror Show and another to enjoy the River Walk and shop. Now enough of my weekend, let’s get to Saturday’s look!

Polo-Forever 21

Black Denim-Forever 21

Chelsea Boots-Hawkings McGill from Urban Outfitters

Sunnies-Ray-Ban

Watch-DKNY

This is an easy look to sport,I know majority of guys look at a t-shirt and sneakers as casual. However, a polo can be an essential as well, my suggestion is to go for a fashion polo and not your typical logo polo. Wearing one of those will get you lost in a sea of preppy boys. No hate to the preppy look, but it has been beaten to a pulp this summer.

I paired my polo with some black denim. Black denim will do what the typical blue denim can’t, it makes your casual look better! If you don’t like wearing chinos, then black denim is perfect, you don’t have to relinquish your love for denim, just change up the color.

Finally my boots! I have posted about Chelsea boots before and have shown outfits to wear them with. This post shows you exactly how they look on a person. If just looking at how they look paired with my outfit doesn’t convince you to buy a pair, I’ll give you a few reasons:

  • Winter is coming and a pair of boots will keep your feet warm.
  • You will get compliments from everyone.
  • That guy or girl you like will probably notice you.
  • They are awesome!
  • They will make you look even hotter!

I know some of those reasons are laughable, but I’m serious when I say that they are just the perfect boot for any occasion. Dress them up or down, you will never know when to take them off and that is a good thing! Rethink essentials and add a fashion polo and some black or even grey denim to your casual look.

Hope my outfit inspires you to try a similar look, stay classy my friends!
