Mickey mouse, torn jeans and studs

Mickey Mouse, torn jeans and studs are just some of my favorite things, and they all came together for this look. Winter is almost coming to a close but that doesn’t mean the cold will be going away. Spring can some times have cold nights and my Mickey Mouse sweater will definitely work for those nights.

I copped the Mickey Mouse sweater at H&M.  I rarely ever find anything for myself at H&M, but for some reason this sweater caught my attention. After trying it on, I decided it was a must! And it’s been a great addition to my wardrobe. I’ve gotten compliments from people when wearing it. You really don’t need to wear any other statement items when wearing this sweater.

I stayed with dark colors for this look. I paired the sweater with some grey torn jeans from Zara and some studded high top sneakers from Steve Madden that I haven’t worn in awhile. The torn denim and studded shoes contrast with the sweater, but they still definitely work together. It gives my outfit a bit of an edge to it. Haha.

What are your thoughts on the sweater? How would you style it?

Obsessed with the Yeezy 700 Salt

yeezy_boost_700_salt_2

I know am late to the party, but I am officially obsessed with the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 salt. I honestly slept on these shoes, when they went on sale. I regretted it and a few days later, thanks to GOAT, I was able to purchase them.

My first impression out of the box was, “why did I sleep on these?!” Yes, it is muted color way, but it works for me. I usually stay away from all black or white tonal chunky shoes, because they can look like work shoes. However, these don’t.

The salt color way falls somewhere between grey, blue and white. The muted colors makes it  easy to go with almost any outfit. I used it throughout the weekend with different outfits and it worked.

If you missed out on these shoes, I definitely recommend getting them off GOAT or StockX. Another thing that makes these a must cop is the fact the shoes had low stock numbers, which makes them sort of rare. The inertia color way just released and that one has double the stock of the salts.

What are your thoughts on the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 salt?

A cool cosmic space anorak

cosmic-anorak-forever21-1

When is comes to adding new items to my wardrobe, I look for pieces that will make an outfit stand out.  That is exactly what this Forever 21 cosmic space printed anorak does. I saw it online and was drawn to it, but I wanted to see how it looked in person. I found it at my local Forever 21 and purchased it after trying it on and liking the way it looked on me.

I ended up wearing it this weekend. I paired the cosmic anorak with some black joggers from DKNY and my high top white leather Converse. Since the anorak itself already makes a statement, I kept it simple with the other items in my outfit. I really recommend this anorak if you’re looking for something fun to add to your wardrobe. It is definitely a piece that works for the cool spring evenings. Forever 21 also has some matching joggers as well. I am still debating on whether I should cop those.

What are your thoughts on the cosmic space print anorak?

70s fashion

Mens-fashion-1

I tried to give some 70s fashion realness to my outfit last Thursday for my company’s yearly summit, which was 70s themed for its 45th anniversary. I enjoy a good theme and I surprisingly had some 70s inspired items in my wardrobe.

Mens-fashion-2

I started off with some yellow and black plaid pants from Forever 21. While the pattern is 70s influenced, the cut is a modern straight fit. I paired it with a blue jean button up shirt, which I don’t think was very 70s, but my Forever 21 corduroy trucker jacket made up for it. I finished my look with my white leather Converse. I mean Converse transcend every decade, so it was safe going with them.

While my look wasn’t a 100 percent authentic, the colors, patterns and corduroy do scream 70s. Don’t you just like it when you have clothes in your wardrobe that fits a theme?

Holiday in Houston

Houston_Fashion_3The holidays are done, and a new year is almost upon us! I hope everyone had a great time with the ones you love. If you’re still on break, lucky you! For my holiday break, I headed to Houston to spend time with my mom and her boyfriend. Over the last year I’ve had more trips to Houston than I ever have, and I’m really falling in love with the city. It’s huge, ethnically diverse and there always seems to be something going on. Also, it doesn’t hurt that it’s the home of The Galleria!

Houston_FashionHouston_skyscrapersOn the day before Christmas, we headed out on the town, so I could see some sites on my short trip. We made a stop downtown at a park in front of city hall. The park was perfectly situated between city hall and a few skyscrapers. I find the Houston skyline to breathtaking, so I took a couple of photos.

Houston_Fashion_2On my outing at the park, I took some photos in front of the Reliant Energy Christmas tree and the water fountain in front of city hall. Since, it wasn’t super cold during the day, I stuck to wearing my new distressed black jean jacket from Forever 21. My denim jacket paired along with my yellow plaid shirt also from Forever 21 kept me warm enough throughout my day. I kept with the black denim for my jeans and topped off my look with some luxury á la Saint Laurent boots. I enjoyed my Houston outing with style!

Houston_Fashion_5Overall, I really enjoyed my holidays. I got to see my lovely mom, and I got spend time in a city I hope to live in soon. Until the new year!

Earthy Colors

Menswear_fall_fashion_1

Last weekend was full of adventure, with a trip with friends to Austin for the Trail of Lights and a night out on Sixth Street that almost led to being kicked out of a bar (bartender’s fault) there wasn’t a dull moment. While the short trip to and from Austin was great, a stroll in the park enjoying a cold, sunny Saturday was a needed highlight.

Even though I’m not the biggest fan of the cold, I do my best to enjoy it. Especially, since I live in south Texas where it’s hot 85 percent of the year. While I tend to stay with darker shades, the sunny day on Saturday called for earthy colors in my wardrobe.

When putting my outfit together, I knew that layers was the way to go. I started with a denim button up and added my mustard colored wool sweater over it, both from DKNY. Since my button up was a lighter denim, I went with a darker denim for my pants.

Menswear_fall_fashion_3

For footwear, I decided to wear my dark brown Urban Outfitters Chelsea boots, because nothing screams cold weather like a nice pair of boots. To help top off my look, I layered my dark green bomber jacket from Tarjay (Target) to help keep me warm. And keep me warm, the jacket did!

With winter only a few days away, will you still be rocking earthy tones or darker tones?

Streetwear for the cool evening

As I’ve transitioned into a new job position with a new employer, I’ve sadly been mia from my blog. However, I am back with some new content!

This past weekend a cold front came into town, and I immediately took that a sign to bring out the fall/winter clothes. I mean, I always stock up clothing for the cooler days, but living in south Texas, those days take some time to get here.

To enjoy the weather, my boyfriend and I headed to the park on Sunday evening. It felt so good to enjoy a stroll without sweating from the get go.

While I traditionally like to stick to the earthy colors of fall, I wanted to rock my cool Forever 21 mint-colored anorak. I was obsessed with it when I bought it in the summer. However, it just wasn’t realistic to wear it in the 100 degree weather.

I paired my anorak with my light wash torn skinny jeans from Zara. It only made sense to keep my look on the brighter side of things with lighter colors. That’s why I ended up pairing my anorak with light jeans and my white leather Converse.

Even though my look didn’t have any earthy tones to it, I loved it! It’s always good to break the fashion rules, plus it’s better when you stand out a little.

Well, until next time!✌🏻
