With the pandemic going on, there hasn’t been much reason for me to dress up. But quarantine boredom has struck me these past few weeks, and I’ve felt the need to take a look at my closet and think of outfits I want to wear when this is all over. Looking at my wardrobe, I’ve realized how much clothes I have that has to been worn. I’ll admit that some of the reason I haven’t worn clothes is because I’ve bought items with the intention of wearing it when I started feeling good about my body. And I’m finally here! I’m comfortable with myself and why not start featuring my looks?
In this featured look, I’m wearing a cute color block rayon button up shirt I purchased at Forever 21 in the fall. I remember trying this shirt on in-store and loving the way it looked on me. This shirt really screams spring/summer and with the pandemic there has been no reason to really wear this shirt. I guess maybe the next time I go grocery shopping? I definitely see myself wearing this for a brunch get together with friends.
I paired the shirt with some paint splattered black dad jeans from Urban Outfitters and my white hi-top leather Converse. Here’s looking forward to the day I can wear this outfit anywhere but my apartment.
These past months have not given much reason to dress up for anything. I’m usually in the same tee and shorts throughout the day. The times I do need to go to the office for work, I’ll dress appropriately.
However, I had Friday off and figured I’d dress up and take a couple of photos of an outfit I would wear out if I could. My featured T-shirt hasn’t really seen much wear. I bought it about two years ago at Forever 21 and ended up not liking it on myself. I guess at that time, I was dealing with some body issues. I’m in a better place now, and I definitely liked the way the tee looked on me.
I decided to pair my striped tee with a pair of torn skinny jeans from Zara. Tucked in the tee and rolled the sleeves, which was my boyfriend’s idea and finished the look off with my white leather hi-top converse. I fell in love with this look, and I can’t wait for a time to be able to wear it out. Maybe a fall brunch? Who knows.
If you like the tee, I don’t think Forever 21 has it anymore, but I did find another striped tee I liked, if you want to check it out.
Let me know your thoughts on my outfit and tell me what you can’t wait to wear come the end of quarantine.
From the coronavirus pandemic to the current fight to end police brutality and systematic racism, the year has brought some challenges our way. Due to the current state of things, I haven’t found it appropriate to blog about fashion. But as the days have progressed, I’ve found that I need to put energy into things I like in order to feel some sort of happiness during this time.
I’ve started my road to happiness with the creation of my YouTube channel Guys Loves Bravo TV, and now I think it’s time to start up my fashion blog again. While I can’t guarantee a blog every week, as outings into town are still very scarce, I will guarantee fashion blog content more frequently than I’ve currently been posting.
Let me start off with featuring my Kim Petra’s pink T-shirt. I bought it a few months ago on Kim’s website. She released it for a limited time and that made me want it even more. It’s definitely the cool shot of her serving a look that makes the shirt. While I haven’t been able to wear the shirt out yet, I figured I’d take a look at my wardrobe and see what I could pair it with. I ended up liking how it looked with my torn sad jeans from Urban Outfitters and my Converses.
It was definitely a must for my wardrobe and I’m glad I bought it. What are your thoughts on my Kim Petra’s T-shirt? Do you like it or is it a no?
Can we say obsessed? I am honestly obsessed with my featured look! The mastermind behind my look is none other than my boyfriend. It was a Saturday afternoon. We had a few looks to shoot and out of nowhere the “Don’t Tell Me” music video by Madonna and the outfit idea came to him. I was pretty much hesitant at first. Mostly because his Madonna obsession has gotten to me, but I digress. I decided to go with it, and I can honestly say that it’s one of my favorite looks ever.
Breaking down the outfit: the light blue denim shirt from DKNY was the first item picked. Next were the blue skinny jeans from H&M. I think at first, we were both hesitant about the fit, but I haven’t really been wearing denim for a hot minute and all I used to wear was skinny jeans. I would die before purchasing a boot or straight cut jean. Anyway, the pants ended up fitting the look perfectly. Next were my Calvin Klein silver boots, which I purchased over a year ago. I’ve haven’t worn them out, but I purchased them after finding out Raf Simons was leaving Calvin Klein. His aesthetic was amazing, and I needed a piece of it! To finish of the look, we went with a leather jacket I picked up from Zara a few years back and a navy hat from Topman.
I love this look, and with fall here, I will definitely rocking this look on a night out! What looks are you curious to try?
When fall arrives, I bring out the plaid! It’s obviously nothing groundbreaking, but plaid definitely changes up my look. Since the summer months tend to consist of short shorts and tees. A new style choice over the summer was concert tees. I found myself going to many concerts in 2018, and they became a go-to piece to use in the summer. With some styling help from my boyfriend, it looks like concert tees will be part of my fall wardrobe as well!
In this featured look, a J. Crew plaid shirt from the thrift shop meets a Charli XCX tour tee! I wasn’t sure about the combination at first, but they definitely go together in the picture. I went with some distressed skinny jeans from Urban Outfitters to complement my black tee. To help balance, I went with my Yeezy 700 Mauve sneakers, which complemented my plaid shirt. The neon green accents in the sneakers also matched my Charli tee. Finally, to give my outfit that drip (LOL), I added an Adidas belt bag I got at PacSun on clearance for only $8. Definitely a steal! The iridescent of the bag gave my outfit a much needed pop, while also complementing the greens in my outfit.
I can see myself making the plaid/concert tee combination a staple for fall. Has this been a staple in your wardrobe or is this something you might try for fall?
Have you ever heard the saying, “fall is when I’ll starting dressing nice?” Well that saying couldn’t be truer for me. The temperatures have lowered just a little, and I officially don’t know how to act. I’m layering, wearing jeans and accessories when I can. I find easier to accessorize and layer, because I’m not sweating buckets.
In this weekend look, I added an American Eagle jean jacket I purchased a few years ago, to my look. Giving me a sort of Canadian tuxedo look, minus the jean shirt. I went with a short sleeve striped button up from Forever 21 tucked into my Urban Outfitters dad jeans. I finished my look with my Yeezy 700 V2 Static shoes and a black belt.
The look definitely gives me a fall dad chic look! What types of looks will you be rocking for fall? More layering?
When the fall weather starts to hit, I start to feel myself and make an effort with my work outfits. Ok, I wouldn’t say this featured look is the most effort I’ve put in an outfit, but the simple add of a jacket can definitely make an outfit pop.
My Forever 21 tan jacket plus my Yeezy 700 Analog sneakers, khakis and button up shirt make up my dad chic look!
It’s been a HOT couple of days in Texas. Like over 100 degrees hot. To get through these hot days on the weekend, shorts have become my best friend. For a big portion of my 27 years on this earth, I haven’t been a big fan of shorts, even on the hottest days. But that has changed, obviously!
Shorts have become my best friend this summer. I’ve invested in my new friendship by purchasing several shorts from Urban Outfitters, like the ones featured in this blog. I fell in love with this UO geo print woven shorts, that I bought them in two colors. I’ll feature the other colorway at a later date. I paired these pink pair with a Chvrches concert tee and matching Yeezy 700 Boost in the inertia colorway. These shorts keep me cool on a hot summer day!
Spring is finally here but that doesn’t mean jackets are over. The temperature can drop in the evenings and a thin lightweight jacket like the one I’m featuring will keep you warm and stylish. I bought my jacket from DKNY two years ago and you can find a similar jacket at Target for a more affordable price than I paid for.
I paired my jacket with a brick colored tee from Forever 21. This tee is spring ready and gives my outfit a pop of color. For pants, I went with some grey plaid joggers from Forever 21. Joggers are around all year long and are a great alternative for pants when it gets hot in the spring months.
For shoes, I went with my New Balance 300 tan leather sneakers from Urban Outfitters. You can find similar shoes on the New Balance website. They are very comfortable and stylish, which makes them great for spring!
I completed my look with a black cap to match the jacket. Spring is a great inbetween when it comes to weather. Most days you’ll wear shorts, but some nights, you can add some outwear to your wardrobe without breaking a sweat.
I can’t wait to share other spring outfits. What are your thoughts on jackets for spring?
Corduroy blew up this past fall/winter and it looks like it is staying for spring, according to GQ. While corduroy hasn’t really gone anywhere, it doesn’t seem like it had been as big as it was this past fall. I saw corduroy on the website of every streetwear label I wear and it ended up invading my wardrobe.
I purchased this cool color block corduroy jacket from Urban Outfitters, along with the khaki corduroy pants. They have been great additions to my wardrobe, especially the jacket. It is a pretty cool statement piece!
I paired the jacket with the corduroy pants. I was originally hesitant to do this, but I think the corduroy on corduroy look came out pretty good.
I finished the look with a black and white striped tee from Forever 21 and Sk8-hi top Vans. Once upon a time a patched jacket and striped tee would probably be a no-no, but it is all about clashing nowadays, so why not?
I won’t be rocking these pieces as the weather gets warmer, but I wouldn’t mind wearing corduroy shorts. I just need to find me a good pair.
