This has been a month of changes. As I begin to learn and grow as an adult in my personal and professional life, I’ve realized that my happiness is important. This blog is one of the many things that make me happy. My love for fashion is the reason I created Guy Love Fashion. Thank you to everyone who take the time to read my blog.
To help get me out of my rut, my boyfriend and I took a trip to the San Antonio Museum of Art on Tuesday for their free admission night. The museum is one of my favorite places to go, because it allows me an opportunity to escape reality for a while, and get lost in the art that is displayed.
A casual, relaxing night at the museum called for a casual, relaxing outfit. I wore a scallop short-sleeve tee from PacSun perfect for the summer heat and layered it with my favorite Urban Outfitters plaid shirt. Yes, I know this plaid shirt was featured in my throwback post from two weeks ago, but it truly is a staple in my wardrobe. The light shades are perfect for summer!
I paired the light shades with my favorite dark torn jeans from Zara and my New Balance shoes to match my shirts. My torn jeans gave my legs the opportunity to breathe in the humid evenings, while my shoes allowed me comfort for walking in the museum and outside in the courtyard.
I enjoyed my time at the museum. It allowed me to unwind and ease my mind from some of the things on my mind. If you live in San Antonio and haven’t visited SAMA, I suggest you make a visit.
This hot month was all about going against the norm. I was dressed in black and wore an anorak. Yeah, I’ve never been one for practical fashion. However, toward the end of the month the hot weather got the best of me, and I had to go for a look that wouldn’t have me dying from the heat.
My first featured look was all about my DKNY white anorak. This buy from one of my favorite brands was perfect for summer! The perforated sleeves were an obvious stand out for me, giving it a much more fashion forward look compared to others I had seen.
My second look featured my favorite color and a cool thrift find from Buffalo Exchange. Black isn’t a practical color to wear during the hot days, but it’s just perfect to wear. And pairing my look with a new suede button up made for an outfit that’s probably best left for summer nights.
My final look for the month highlighted after work attire perfect for the summer heat. I paired my Topman tee and Urban Outfitters sunflower printed short sleeve button up with some joggers for a perfect outfit that’s ready for hanging out with friends after work. Oh, let’s not forget my cool but comfy New Balance shoes!
With July coming to a close, I’m hoping that August isn’t painfully hot. I can’t wait to start sharing my August looks with you!
After a long day at work, nothing feels better than taking of the work wear and slipping into something more comfortable. Of course, if you have plans to meet some friends for after work plans you might need to forget the sweats and wear something that won’t have people questioning your fashion sense.
With the days getting hotter, you might consider summer apparel that borders on leisure wear without making you seem like your ready for bed. For the hotter days, I’ll out switch my signature torn jeans look for jogger or shorts. In this case, I wore some acid wash jogger from Forever 21 for some subway and walking at the park with my boyfriend.
It became acceptable to integrate joggers into your casual wear a few years ago, and it’s a fashion choice I pick to stay cool. Add a (Topman) tee and layer it with a (Urban Outfitters) short sleeve button up shirt and you have the perfect summer look!
Think my outfit is too casual for after work plans? Switch out denim looking joggers for some khaki or navy joggers. Pair them with darker tone tees and button up shirts for after work attire that’s ready for dinner and/or drinks with friends.
From capsule collection tees to Arizona tea bottle inspired sweatshirts, my April looks were pretty interesting! I started off with spring inspired looks and ended with a winter inspired look.
My ’90s black Guess oversized logo tee was my favorite piece for April. I had long strayed away from logo tees, but capsule collections just do it right. It might be that logo tees were huge in the ’90s and inspired looks from the decade are spot on. This piece is still available at Guess stores, and I still recommend it!
My DKNY perforated white sweater was a fashion risk that I’m happy I took. I love DKNY and they’ve truly stepped up their game in the streetwear department. I’ve made several other purchases since featuring the sweater, and I look forward to featuring them.
I finished out my April looks with a sweatshirt that tends to only make an appearance during the winter. However, a cold front came out of nowhere, and changed my planned outfit. Unlike the last time it was cold, I picked bright colors over dark.
As April comes to a close, I look forward to May and can’t wait share the looks I have in store.
In an interesting turn of events, we received a cold front this past weekend and it required a light sweater to get through the day. I mean it was a high of 67 degrees, which probably doesn’t feel that cold if you live in the north, but living in south Texas it’s considered a cold front.
The last time I was privy to this weather, I only figured it was fair to dress the mood. This time around I decided to stick to the time of the season and wear some color. I took out an old favorite of mine, an Urban Outfitters sweatshirt that always remind me of an Arizona tea bottle.
To help even out all the color my sweater was throwing out to the universe, I paired it with some black skinny jeans and my old faithful black converse. The black jeans and shoes allowed my sweater to make the statement while matching the black in my sweater.
I couldn’t have an outfit without a cap, an accessory that has become a signature in most of my recent looks. No, I’m not balding, I’ve just really been digging the way they add a little something to every look. I was originally going to wear a black cap, but figured all the black would be too much. Plus, the tan color complimented the sweater.
The cold front was fun while it lasted, but now it’s back to sunny days… or it is? I guess we’ll see if the weather has another plot twist in the near future. Until then, I’ll be planning outfits for hotter days.
